what have i been up to while i should have been sleeping???

blasting some good tunes from my ipod and trying not to sing-a-long outloud while i sew the nights away.
mei-tai baby carriers for some very expecting mama's:

and a nursing cover complete with stow-a-way bag and matching burp cloth for a new babe:

they've all been packed up sweetly and are off to new homes. one will travel over the ocean and the others are just taking a little trip over the mountains. i hope they all meet healthy, happy, fresh babies when they arrive.

i've got a little somethin' up my sleeve. i've been inspired by the sweetest miss danyelle and her dandee shop. i'm thinking that i might throw a few of my projects up here on my bloggy and try my hand at pedaling my wares. what would you like me to sew up for you? what are your favorite fabric prints? do you have any advice?

now... should i go tuck myself in... or turn the tunes up louder?

  1. Turn em up Lin!!! Those prizes look splendid. I can not tell you how excited I am for you to finally put your goods up for sale! The mei teis as awesome...and the bags...oh the bags...I'm still thinking about that corduroy handbag you made for Amelia. Everyone's going to tell you that ANYTHING you make will sell. Can't wait.

  2. Lindsay,

You know what i would love to have sewn for me? Curtains...for my kitchen windows. I would pay good money for those.

Are you thinking etsy shop? Because you should. I love your fabric choices, especially the yellow. Love the yellow.

  4. Those are so cute. I love how you can sew. I was just complimenting Susan P. about how that is such a great thing to know how to do. I want to get my daughter a sewing machine for Christmas this year. She'll be 10, but I think your never to young. Many things come to mind on what you could make for me, but I will be tickled if you would start your little shop of wonders.

  5. Oh Lin!!! I want it all but really I want a mei tei and a nursing cover!!! I really feel like I am having a girl but of course, I won't know for a couple months still!! If we have a girl...there is a really good chance she will be named Payslee and I would love some of your goodies in paisley print in some bright pink/brown or teal/brown or bright green/brown?!?! So many decisions!!

You just name the price and I will start my "baby goodies saving fund"!! It is about time you get paid for all your creations!

And a nice diaper bag in true lindsay fashion would be wonderful too!

  7. I love both fabric choices for the carriers. You are so very talented. I've been meaning to ask you if you would be willing to share your talents with the YW sometime. I'll call you and feel it out.

You should definitely pedal your talents. I, and many others will be standing in line to be your patrons.

  11. Oh Lindsay, these are wonderful! My favorite is the second amy butler mei tai. I wish I had one for my baby, things would've been so much easier! I wasn't on the internet at that time in my life though, so I had no idea about these wonderful baby products.

You must open a shop, you are a very skilled sewer and it comes naturally to you. You have good attention to stitch detail as well. Do It!

  16. Lin,
You should for sure start an etsy shop. If you don't do anything when you come down to UT this summer, come & join me at the farmers market in the free artist section. I go there every week. We do really well at the market, better than my shop. The market will give you a good gauge on how your stuff will do. email me if you have any questions about the market. It is super fun.
